Greek Pita Pizza - by James Theopistos
I have noticed that in Greece, the pizza is a little different. Most of the pizza's there tend to be smaller and seem to utilze pita bread for the crust.
- 2 cups of Mozarella cheese grated
- Topping of your choice (for extra Greek flavor, include oregano, crumbled feta, greek olives, salonica peppers)
- Jar of Pizza or Spaghetti sauce
- 6 pitas
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Top your pitas with sauce, toppings and then cheese (a little extra oregano or crumbled feta cheese sprinkled on top will give your pizza an extra Greek flavor). Bake directly on a pizza stone or on the oven rack for 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly. Take out of the oven an cut each pizza in half and serve. This should serve a family of 4 easily. Extras on the side might be a greek salad and some baklava for desert. Yummy!
